Senior Designer, Leading creative innovation, repairable waterproof systems, and athlete‑driven product design
The Eiger Free Freeride Collection is Mammut’s big‑mountain program, built for riders pushing technical lines in storm cycles and variable snow. I led the creative development of several freeride shells and insulated layers, focusing on innovative workmanship, functional precision, and advanced material solutions.
A major focus was engineering taped, waterproof systems for freeride movement: boxier silhouettes for layered insulation, articulation that holds up at speed, and reinforced seams tuned for durability. I developed repairable detail solutions, simplified zipper‑replacement, reinforced high‑wear zones, so products can be quickly maintained mid‑season and keep riding longer.
Working hands‑on from pattern and mock‑ups through prototypes, I partnered closely with Mammut freeride athletes to translate testing feedback into solutions balancing weather protection, breathability, and long‑life durability with pack‑friendly pocketing and stable storm hoods.
The Eiger Free Freeride Collection reflects Mammut’s ambition to push industry boundaries while staying true to its Swiss heritage of precision and craftsmanship. Leading these creative projects from concept to production allowed me to combine purpose‑driven innovation, technical problem‑solving, and athlete‑centred validation to create repairable, high‑performance freeride outerwear that earns trust in consequential terrain.
